Ms. T. Ajungla Jamir

Ambassador T. Ajungla Jamir joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2005. She has served in the High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur handling Political and Labour issues, and also in the High Commission of India in London looking after Political, Economic and Consular issues. She was the Regional Passport Officer in Guwahati, Assam covering six of the North Eastern States of India. In the Ministry of External Affairs, Amb. Ajungla was the Director for Consular, Passport and Visa and later served as Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. Before assuming charge as the Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India in Hanoi, she was the Consul General of India in Milan.

Amb. Ajungla has an M.Phil degree from the school of International Studies (Centre for American and West European Studies), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, and also finished her Master’s degree in Political Science from JNU.

Amb. Ajungla joined in her current role as the Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of India at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations and other International Organisations in December 2025.

She is married and has a son and a daughter.
