Statement by India under Agenda Item 6: Adoption of UPR Outcomes of Mongolia at the 61st Session of Human Rights Council (23 February – 31 March 2026), delivered by Mr. Kshitij Tyagi, Counsellor, Permanent Mission of India, Geneva, 18 March 2026

Mr. President,

India warmly welcomes the delegation of Mongolia for the adoption of the UPR Working Group’s report on its 4th UPR, held on 4 November 2025.

  1. ​ The review saw substantive participation with 72 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 223 recommendations. We appreciate the constructive engagement of the delegation of Mongolia during the entire review, which reflects their commitment to the UPR process.

3.​ India appreciates that as many as 192 recommendations have been accepted by Mongolia, including all three recommendations made by us.

4.​ While recommending the adoption of their UPR report, we congratulate the delegation of Mongolia on a successful review and wish them success in their efforts towards implementing the accepted recommendations.
