Statement by India under Agenda Item 6: Adoption of UPR Outcomes of Spain at the 60th Session of Human Rights Council (8 September – 8 October 2025) delivered by Ms. Anupama Singh, First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India, Geneva, 29 September 2025

Mr. President,

India warmly welcomes the delegation of Spain for the adoption of the report of the Working Group on its 4th cycle of the Universal Periodic Review held on 30 April 2025.

  1. The review saw substantive and constructive participation with 120 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 324 recommendations. We appreciate the constructive engagement of the delegation of Spain during the entire review, which reflects the strong commitment they attach to the UPR process.
  2. We appreciate that as many as 303 recommendations have been accepted by Spain, including two recommendations made by us.
  3. While recommending the adoption of their UPR report, we congratulate the delegation of Spain on a successful review and wish them success in their efforts for implementing the accepted recommendations.
