Geneva, 23 January 2026

Thank you Madam Vice President,

My delegation thanks the delegation of Austria for the presentation of their national report. We note measures taken to implement the three recommendations made by India and accepted by Austria in its 3rd UPR.

  1. 2. We welcome adoption of the 2022–2030 National Action Plan on Disability and development of a national action plan to combat violence against women.
  1. 3. In the spirit of constructive cooperation, India offers following two recommendations:

First, continue taking measures to strengthen legal protection available to foreign workers and facilitate their fair mobility.

Second, ensuring rights of the child to enjoy his or her own culture and preserve his or her own identity, including to live with their biological families and in an appropriate socio-cultural milieu in order to ensure all round development of the child.

4. We wish the delegation of Austria a successful UPR

Thank you.
