Thank you Mr. Vice President,

My delegation thanks the delegation of Sultanate of Oman for the presentation of their national report. We note measures taken to implement the three recommendations made by India and accepted by Oman during its 3rd cycle of the UPR.

  1. We welcome ‘Oman vision 2040’. We also note efforts by the Sultanate in the areas of Wage Protection System and regulation of domestic workers, following the enactment of comprehensive Oman Labour Law.
  2. In the spirit of constructive cooperation, India recommends the following:

First, encourage the continuation of measures to strengthen legal protection available to foreign workers and provisions regarding their effective protection from exploitation and violence.

Second, continue supporting the expansion of early childhood education.

And third, continue efforts to realize access to justice for all, without any discrimination.

  1. We wish the delegation of Oman a successful UPR.

Thank you.
