Mr. President,

We warmly welcome the delegation of Grenada. We take note with appreciation of Grenada’s commitment to the promotion and protection of the human rights of its citizens, as enshrined in its Constitution and affirmed by international law and conventions to which it is a party.

2. We welcome the enactment of the Compulsory School Age legislation (2024), aimed at ensuring that all children up to the age of 18 attend school. We also note with appreciation the adoption of the new Minimum Wage Order (2023), which is expected to contribute to poverty eradication and promote a more stable labour market.

3. In the spirit of constructive dialogue, India recommends the following to Grenada:

a) Consider enshrining the right to education within the Constitution and its legislation; and

b) Consider further strengthening legislation and policies on disability inclusion to promote inclusive and equitable development for all.

4. We wish the delegation of Grenada, all success in its review

Thank you, Mr. President.
