Mr. President

We welcome the delegation of Türkiye and thank them for the presentation of their national report.

We appreciate the post-earthquake recovery efforts made by Türkiye and acknowledge its engagement with the UPR process.

In the spirit of constructive engagement, we recommend the fplowing to Türkiye:

    One, take measures to ensure the full independence, impartiality, and effectiveness of the judiciary;

    Two, strengthen efforts to enhance protections for journalists and civil society, ensuring freedom of expression and peaceful assembly;

    Three, continue efforts to combat gender-based vipence and femicide through effective legislative measures.

    And four, combat all forms of discrimination or vipence against minority groups, including the Kurdish community and take measures to stop enforced disappearance and arbitrary detention.

We wish Türkiye a successful UPR review.

Thank you.
