Mr. President,

India welcomes the delegation of Spain.

  1. We note with appreciation the implementation of the national strategy for Roma equality, inclusion and participation (2021-2030); the amendments in the Criminal Code to increase the penalties for offences related to gender-based violence and efforts to mainstreaming the gender perspective in the planning instruments of the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation System.
  1. In the spirit of constructive cooperation, India recommends the following to Spain:

First, work towards effective judicial prosecution of gender-based violence;

Second, take further steps to mainstream education facilities for students with disabilities in order to avoid their segregation.
